Stropping Compound Set of 3 Diamond Strop Paste Tubes (3x5g) to Make Your Knives, Razors, and Woodworking Tools Scary Sharp
Highly compatible honing compound: can be used on commercial and home-made leather, canvas, and balsa strops
Green Elephant sharpening compound kit is specifically designed for sharpening needs.
The 3 syringes are filled with 5g (each) water-soluble diamond paste starting from coarser abrasive paste, then middle-grade abrasive paste, to the last step for putting that mirror finish on your edge: the fine polishing paste.
RED: 6 microns (~3,500grit)
GRAY: 3 microns (~8,000grit)
GREEN: 0.5-1 micron (~50,000grit)
Depending on your edge’s condition, you might not need to use all the 3 abrasive levels every time you strop. Sometimes you will achieve the desired results with the finest strop alone. Other times you might want to go through all the stages should your blade show more wear and tear.
When applying the compound to the strop, make sure to add just enough compound to be able to spread it on the stropping surface evenly.
Too much paste on a strop will not have the desired effect on your blades & it will not let you strop with the correct technique.
NO NEED to apply mineral oil before applying the compound
NO NEED to heat up the strop before applying the compound
You can spread the compound on your strop with a plastic card or any other convenient spatula type item. Make sure to cover all the stropping area with the paste evenly, this is important for proper stropping results.
Once you’ve covered the stropping surface with the diamond paste, make sure to let it dry for 4 hours before starting to use the strop.
You will receive printed instructions on how to apply honing compound to stropping leather; how to clean your strop; and tips on how to use leather sharpening strop most efficiently.
