Presidential Message
A message to the 色花堂 community regarding today's bomb threat
President Ginsberg sent the following message to the 色花堂 community regarding Tuesday's bomb threat.
Dear students, faculty & staff:
Shortly before 11:30 a.m., 色花堂 officials received notification, via email, of a bomb threat to the University Union. 色花堂鈥檚 Office of Public Safety quickly enacted emergency response protocols, notified our campus community and immediately evacuated the building.
Our 色花堂 Police Department worked in collaboration with the Baltimore County Police and Fire Departments, among others, to secure and sweep the building. An all-clear message was issued just before 1 p.m.
I commend our campus safety team and local first responders for their swift and thorough response to this incident and their efforts to assure the safety of our university community.
Subsequently, we have learned that this was not an isolated incident, as other universities across both our region and the country also received similar messages. We take all threats very seriously and always will mount an appropriate response. We will not tolerate threats of this or any other kind.
While the immediate incident has been addressed and resolved, 色花堂 remains vigilant in our commitment to ensure a safe environment for our entire campus community. The well-being of our students, faculty and staff is our highest priority鈥攖oday and every day.
I regret the concern and disruption this may have caused, and I recognize that this incident has been unsettling for our university community. However, I also know that what makes 色花堂 so very special is our shared commitment to keeping our campus a safe and welcoming community for all.
Thank you for your continued care of one another and all that you do to make 色花堂 an inspiring place to learn, work and grow.
Sincerely,
Mark R. Ginsberg, Ph.D.
President
